Best Time To Meditate

If you are wondering when is the best time to meditate then you must consider a few things about yourself.

The best time to meditate would likely be very different for each of us. I am not a morning person. I have to get out of bed and stumble to the kitchen for a cup of coffee and sit on the front porch for 10-20 minutes.

Sound to sleep I really can’t start my day meditating or I think I would find myself falling asleep. Although more sleep might be advantageous to me I wouldn’t really get anything out of my meditation.

On the other hand, the best time to meditate for you might be just the opposite. If you wake up in the morning with a spring in your step after a good night’s sleep…well, it might be the perfect time for you to calm your mind so… you can meditate before your day gets going.

Then there are some of my friends who claim the best timemeditation to meditate for them is in the middle of the day. They tell me it is because they find their mind cluttered from the mornings’ challenges and they love to use the afternoon to meditate because it clears their mind for the rest of the day.

Though I know I didn’t answer the question directly as it is different for everyone.
Sometimes the perfect time isn’t feasible. So you will have to create a time during your day that is convenient to meditate. Sometimes our schedules have a conflict with our best time. If this is the case you will have to adapt your meditation to your time limits.

I’m glad 4:00 am isn’t the best time to meditate or I would never get through it. Haha, I would sleep sitting up.
I will say I have read that 4:00 am is the best time. Please! There is no perfect time to meditate that is the same for each of us.meditate anywhere

As meditation itself is a very private and personal thing, so is the time you choose to meditate. If the time you choose doesn’t give you the benefits you hope for, then change what you are doing. Experiment, try different times. perhaps I can’t start my day meditating because I don’t do mornings at all, perhaps you don’t do mornings at all either and that proves to be the perfect time for you to meditate.

If you are not sure what is right for you try different times. Although I would advise you to meditate at the same time every day. A routine would most likely be best. However, sometimes it isn’t your personality to function properly on a strict routine in your daily life then by all means do what is best for you.

More importantly than knowing the best time to meditate. Just be sure that you do. Meditation is such a good thing for our minds and our well being that the act of meditation is most important.
